About Me

Live on a Sunday night working on my
First blog entry.
How's it going, world? I'm Antonio Portelli. I'm 18 years old and I'm very new to the blogging scene. Currently, I am a full-time student at SUNY Farmingdale in my Freshman year. I'm planning to transfer into Aviation from Liberal Arts and Sciences. I graduated High School last year with an Advanced Regents Diploma. Right now, I'm listening to some music at Friday's while having a Sprite and posting my first blog entry.

Since I was five-years-old, every Sunday morning we went to Republic Airport in Farmingdale,
New York. My parents and I would watch the airplanes takeoff for countless hours. I would hear them soar into the sky and get so excited when I saw one fly by. It had filled me with so much joy and happiness that I looked forward to going there every weekend until my sophomore year in Carle Place High School. My younger fraternal twin brothers joined on occasion with me and found it amazing during their toddler years up until their middle school years. Sometimes, I'll go solo, but most of the time I will go with my buddies who are into Aviation as well.
Talon Air's Hawker 4000 when I was 8 years old.

Flying has been my passion since I was 6 years old. I love all the different aspects of Aviation, from meeting pilots to the ground crew, visiting air traffic control towers,  going through security checkpoints and finding the differences in hospitality of Flight Attendants. It just fascinates me so much. When I was visiting JFK Airport's air traffic control tower, I found it mesmerizing that there were thousands of dots on the radar screen with a team of a dozen or so personnel managing all of the departing flights, and another team managing arriving flights. I've flown with JetBlue, American, and Alitalia Airlines so far. I plan to fly more international flights as I've been on several domestic flights.

Senior year in High School flying with my
Aviation Operations class.
My goal is to become a airline Pilot and fly for the commercial airlines one day, after all of my training and ratings requirements are done. Currently, I'm blogging for my English 102 class. However, I plan to continue this as I journey throughout college and my professional career as a Pilot. Other than flying and being a superhero, I usually go go-karting with my friends, binge watch movies and TV shows from The Science Channel, such as How It's Made and Southpark (not a Science Channel show 😜.)

Follow my blog and see how things turn out.

Regards,
Antonio...
